Write a blog

Blogs are a great way to attract new clients as they allow you to write about your services and solutions for your target audience and showcase your knowledge of the industry. Blogging provides an insight into who you are, what your company’s about, and why you’re in business in the first place. It is especially important to run an online business with no physical location to show people who you are and why they should be interested in hiring your services.

To write a great blog post, you should start by making sure that your blog is unique. You don’t want to write about the same thing as everyone else. Write what interests you and what you know best! The next step is to brainstorm ideas for content, especially if you have a busy schedule. Brainstorming will help you stay on task, so even if an idea never works out, it’ll be out of your head, and you can move forward to a new one.

Once you have your idea, start thinking about how you’re going to present it. Your introduction should encapsulate the entire blog post in a few sentences or less. You may find that some other people have said things similar to what you plan to say, but this is okay. You can write how you see it or where you want to go with the idea. Make sure your article is accurate, but let your sense of style come through!

The main body of the blog post should be filled with facts and information that’ll further prove your points. Use bullet points to make the read easier. Have fun with your ideas and let your personality come out.

The last step is to write the conclusion, which should be where you wrap things up. Let your reader know that you’ve completed the blog, and they should be able to see how what they just read can help them out. Make sure you aren’t ending on a sour note, but instead leave your readers with something positive and motivating to think about when they are done reading!

Share video content

Video marketing is quickly becoming one of the best ways to get your company’s name out there. By 2022, online videos will account for more than 82% of all consumer internet traffic — a 15-fold increase from 2017. (Cisco). If you don’t already have plans to create video content, you should start thinking about how you’ll bring ideas to life! Video marketing is great because it is sharable across social media, your website (if your site works well with videos), and any other place where people might come across it. Video marketing is great for search engine optimization (SEO). Because your videos are interactive, you can place keywords throughout the content that’ll help you rank higher in Google and beyond!

Start a podcast

Podcasts have been around for years but have seen a resurgence in popularity over the past several years. As of 2021, 56% of all Americans, 12-34, listen to at least one podcast per month, compared to 49% in 2020. (convinceandconvert.com) Podcasts are easier than ever to produce and distribute to all the major hosting networks. I use Anchor.fm for two of my podcasts, and it is dead-easy and free!

Podcasts are also great for SEO. They give people the opportunity to listen to your company’s message instead of having to read it or watch it online! Podcasts allow you to tell stories and answer questions that your audience might have, and you can even include guest speakers!

The most important thing about podcasting is making sure that you’re recording and publishing regularly. The easiest thing to do is post one podcast per week and make sure you stay consistent. Your listeners will come back every Tuesday (or whatever day you choose) and check for the latest episode!

Micro-Content

Micro-content has grown in popularity with the introduction of sites like TikTok and Instagram rolling out stories and reels. Micro-content is short, catchy, and generally highly engaging. While many marketers find it challenging to create content for these purposes, it can be a lot easier than you think.

One of the secret weapons of many content creators, especially those creating long-form video, is called DescriptDescript is an automated transcription that allows you to create a written transcript of your video! But it does so much more! You can edit and cut up longer-form videos into small bite-sized snacks. With Descript, you can resize videos, add captions, and include a progress bar to keep the viewer interested. I am typically able to get 4-6 pieces of micro-content out of one 4 minute video.

Additionally, you can strip the transcript and edit the content for your blog. Take the sound from your video, create a podcast, and use Descript to create fun gifs from our videos. It is a content creator’s best friend.

Live video

I wasn’t joking when I said that video is a great way to market your business. Live video is another form of video that is super helpful in attracting the right audience and creating engagement around your brand. While the main aim of live videos is to create engagement, there are still many other benefits to be gained. Live video offers you the opportunity to build trust with your audience by showing them who you are and what you do behind closed doors.

Many platforms offer a live component, so it can be hard to choose. Start with the social network where you think you will get the most traction, then go from there. A tool like Ecamm live can help make it even easier by giving you a toolbox of assets to make your live videos stand out and look professional.

If done correctly, live videos can be a great way to increase brand awareness and build trust with your target audience. It is a unique opportunity for you to have an organic conversation with the people who will most likely become your clients down the road.
